Medical Marijuana Strips – Cannabis Breath Strips

medical marijuana strips

cannabis breath stripsI was at my local Medical Marijuana Dispensary the other day, and I saw these Medicated Pot Strips. Being the curious fellow that I am, I inquired about them and was told that they were basically like listerene breath strips, but medicated. I decided to drop the $5.00 and give one a try.

The first point I would like to make about these, is that they do not, in any way, taste like listerene breath strips. They taste like weed. It is a very strong weed flavor without the sweet candy tastes mixed in that you get from most medical marijuana edibles. These pot strips taste like you are eating a pot leaf, with the texture of plastic wrap.

Besides the straight bitter weed flavor, these Med-Strips also had the consistency of having a piece of saran wrap on your tongue. As it dissolved, it left a strange, bitter film in my mouth, and I had to drink a large glass of water to remove that sensation. (protip: have a drink on hand if you are going to use these… or, even better, have some real Listerene Breath Strips)

medical marijuana breath stripThe Effect of the Medical Marijuana Strip

Like many Medical Marijuana edibles, these Cannabis Strips are a bit of a “creeper”. About an hour after taking it, I definitely felt the muscle relaxation setting in. Over the next half hour the head high began to Flow over me leaving me with a nice indica focus.

The packaging didn’t contain dosage information, but I would say this is comparable with a 30-50mg THC edible. My tolerances are high, and this medical marijuana strip left me feeling quite well, but not overly “stoned”. I could still function rather well under the influence of the pot strips.

The real benefits of the medical marijuana strips are in their size, and discreet appearance. These are really nice for anyone who needs to medicate, but doesn’t want to sit around “blazing a blunt”.

These Cannabis strips would be great for the business traveler who’s sore muscles, aches and pains keeps them from having a good nights sleep in hotel rooms, or the parent that doesn’t want their kid to find their bong.

Pot Strips: The Discreet way to Medicate

All and all, it is a pretty good dose for the price, and a very discreet way to take it. I will most assuredly be keeping some of these around. The packaging says “Effective • Discreet • Convenient”; I would have to agree.

Cannabis Pills – A different way to take Medical Marijuana

Medical Marijuana: Cannabis Pills

Cannabis Pills: a Different way to medicate

medical marijuana pillsSome people just aren’t fans of smoking marijuana. Maybe the equate it to cigarettes, maybe they just aren’t the type to spark up a doobie, blaze the blunt, rip the bong, or hit the bowl… Then again, maybe you love to smoke weed, but aren’t in a position to do so (without having to be sneaky). This is when Cannabis Pills come in handy.

The Road Trip

Not to long ago, my Father moved across the country. I helped him make the drive. However, that drive took us through many states that are not fans of medical marijuana use. I decided that getting arrested for a joint while trying to help my dad move would not be a pleasant experience, but I didn’t want to leave my medication behind. Instead of my usual, I instead stocked up on Cannabis extract pills, and edibles*. These truly made for a much better cross-country experience.

*these weren’t for the drive, but to help me sleep at night in the hotels

Indica Cannabis Pills

medical cannabis pillsI prefer Indica strains of Marijuana. I suffer from Insomnia, joint problems (knees, and tendon damage in my hand from a workplace injury, as well as some nerve damage from a different workplace injury). I therefore find the marijuana effects of Indica much better for my pain then the marijuana effects of the Sativa strains. (as I am sure you can tell by all the Indica reviews on this site). Although you can get both Indica and Sativa strains in pill form, I picked up the Indica.

The bottle claims 16.3mg of THC per pill. I do believe that everyone has a different tolerance, and marijuana effects everyone differently, so you should experiment to find your proper dose. Mine, however, is high. I have found that, for me, 25mg usually gives me slight muscle relaxation, 50mg gives slight head effects, and 75mg gets me faded. I have also found that the reporting on THC levels (at least in edibles) is not very accurate, so testing with a new brand is always a good idea.

Although the instruction suggest dissolving the pills in hot liquid for a quicker affect, I just popped them like aspirin. I started out with two of these pills.(32.6mg of THC). after about an hour I head some okay effects. I took another, and after another hour, I was feeling pretty good.

The effects were nice, but do creep up on you, and might catch you off guard. The Cannabis pills also seemed to have given me a case of weed flavored burps…

Cannabis Pills – Summary

If you don’t want to “smoke” cannabis, but feel like you could benefit from it’s medicinal properties, this may be a good option. The marijuana pills would also be useful to take a half hour before bed if you suffer from muscle aches that keep you up, or any other type of insomnia, but aren’t looking to “get stoned”. Just take these, and as the effects creep up on you, you will drift off into a deep, refreshing sleep.

Either way, I like to always keep some Cannabis pills on hand as a “just in case”.

Do You Vape? – Weed Vaporizer Review

weed vaporizer

E-Cigarettes and Vaporizers

weed-vaporizer-15I am a long time smoker. I have been trying to quit cigarettes for many years. I usually just go by the famous Mark Twain saying:

“Giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world. I know because I’ve done it thousands of times.”

Several years ago I was working on a project, and the company had brought in a couple guys for Europe for it. They both had this marvelous new thing called an E- Cigarette. Knowing the advantages of not inhaling soot, and burning organic matter, I decided to give this strange new E-Cigarette a try. Sadly, the attempt failed. At the time those things were expensive and hard to find. the refills were even harder to find.

I tried several other E-Cigarettes in the 5 years since then, but the all had the same fail points. either the refills were hard to find, or the battery would die (and I would buy a pack while waiting for the recharge… I know, I’m weak)

Recently, The E-Cigarette market has blown up. These thing are now everywhere. With them, came the pen vaporizers. These are basically the E-cigs big brother. I decided to give these a try because they solved some of the previous problems I had with E-Cigs.

I purchased the itazte battery because it recharged via a mini-usb, and you could use it while it was charging. This solved one of my biggest fail points with E-Cigs… the dead battery. I also purchased two tanks (mine are from Kangertech). This allows me to have enough to not worry about running out while on the go.

I spent about a hundred bucks on the hardware, and the nicotine juice costs about $20 per months supply. (better then the $50.00 per week I was spending on cigarettes).

But What About the Vaporizer for Weed?

weed-vaporizer-7Like many weed smokers, I was very intrigued with the possibility of using my new vaporizer for weed. Besides the obvious benefits, using a marijuana vaporizer pen also gives you the ability to medicate discreetly. Now I know… Opponents will say that “discreetly” means we can hide it… but isn’t that what you want? There is no need to try and duck out of sight to swat the bowl with this. I have sat on the steps of city hall and smoked my weed vaporizer pen. No one was bothered.

Weed Vaporizer Refill – Pineapple Kush

hash oil vaporizerThere are many different ways to use Cannabis in a vaporizer. I prefer using hash oil that can be put into the same tanks that i put the E-cig juice in (not at the same time of course). As I try different “Brands”, and flavors, I will report them back here. Today, I am trying the Pineapple Kush (indica) refill that I picked up at the Healing Touch (one of many marijuana dispensaries on Ventura Blvd. This one is in Encino Ca.)

The Pineapple Kush vaporizer marijuana was reasonably priced (I picked it up for a donation of $35.00). This is 1 gram of hash oil vaporizer juice.

The first thing I noticed is the taste. It is called Pineapple, but the taste is more like a pineapple hard candy then an actual pineapple. There is no charred taste, no burnt flavor. Just plain, sweet, pineapple hard candy. The after taste is the same as you get from an edible. It is definitely weed, but not a smoked weed aftertaste. The strength of this particular type was midrange. I had some pretty good effects after a few good rips. I have had stronger, but at a higher price point.

Weed Vaporizer Review – Pineapple Kush – Final Thoughts

marijuana vaporizerI have always believed there is a time and place for everything. Although I am not sure if I would ever convert completely to smoking a weed vaporizer, and nothing else, I do find that using a vaporizer to consume Cannabis is pleasant, discrete, and tasteful.

I really enjoy the flavor and effects of this pineapple kush. The medium strength of it is well suited for activities (which is probably when you really would rather use a weed vaporizer then burn a joint)

Medicinal Marijuana Xternal Rub

Xternal-RubNot to long ago, I hurt my knee pretty bad. My local Dispensary had this Medicinal Marijuana topical spray called Xternal Rub. I decided to give it a try. My knee was giving me a large amount of discomfort when I bent it, and was obviously swollen. I sprayed a couple of sprays of the Xternal Rub Medicinal Marijuana spray on it, and gently massaged it into my knee.

I was amazed at how quickly the dull ache in my knee subsided. The swelling quickly began to go down also. I quickly jumped on Facebook to exclaim my support for this wonderful product. For a short time the pain was gone, and my knee felt normal. (well almost. If i tried to bend it the pain came back quickly, but that constant throbbing that you could always feel under everything… that went away.)

xternal-rub-bottleTo be fair, I am not 100% certain that the effects of this spray were from the Cannabis oil. The ingredients also list:

  • Aloe Vera
  • Ethyl Alcohol
  • Cannabis Oil
  • ACV
  • Eucalyptus Oil
  • Amino Acids

And although I am aware that Cannabis oil has been used for thousands of years as an anti inflammatory and pain killer, I also remember my mom would put Aloe Vera on any injury… and it always seemed to work.

I also would like to point out that this didn’t “cure” my knee injury. I was a very useful anti inflammatory, and definitely reduced my ibuprofen intake during the healing process.

It is also important to note that this product does not produce any of the effects usually associate with marijuana. It does not “get you high”.
