3. THC Cures AIDS?
A new study by the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center has shown that chronic intake of THC protects critical immune tissue in the gut from HIV infection. THC administration was also associated with greater survival of T cells and reduced cell death in key areas for HIV replication. Although this isn’t actually a cure for AIDS, it does slow the disease progression, and points us in new directions for treatments, and possibly a cure.
